SOME OWNERS MAY EXPERIENCE ONE, OR BOTH, OF THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS: 1.) THE HOOD MAY VIBRATE OR FLUTTER WHEN THE VEHICLE IS MOVING; OR 2.) THE HOOD WILL NOT OPEN WHEN THE RELEASE HANDLE INSIDE THE VEHICLE IS ACTUATED.
EXCESSIVE LOADING IN THE AREA OF THE PRIMARY HOOD LATCH.
REMOVE POP-UP SPRING FROM HOOD (FIGURE 1) AND INSTALL NEW POP-UP SPRING, P/N 25515865, ON BODY AND RETAIN WITH NUT, P/N 12337917 AND BOLT, P/N 15650674 (FIGURE 2).
IF THE HOOD HAS TWO OR LESS CRACKS, MIG WELD THE CRACKS AND ADD WELDS AROUND THE LATCH AREA (FIGURE 3).
IF THE HOOD HAS THREE OR MORE CRACKS, REPLACE THE HOOD. SEE APPROPRIATE SERVICE MANUAL FOR REPLACEMENT PROCEDURE.
PARTS ARE CURRENTLY AVAILABLE FROM GMSPO.
