---------- The A/C condenser could be pierced at the bottom by the four (4) front centre valance panel retaining screws.
The four (4) centre screws used to retain the front valance panel may be too long 20.0 Nm (13/16 inch). This causes the screws to pierce the condenser during jounce conditions.
------------- Replace the four (4) valance panel retaining screws with the following shorter service part which is 15.0 to 16.0 Nm (5/8 inch) long.
Quantity Part Number Part Name --------- ------------ ------------ 4 12337913 Screw
The potential for this condition occurred some time during the 1990 Production and carried over into the early 1991 Production. There are no VIN breakpoints available.
The four (4) centre valance panel screws should be replaced whenever a damaged A/C condenser is replaced.
General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
