Some 1991 Rivieras and Toronados may experience horn rattles when the vehicle door is closed. To repair this condition remove horn assembly from side of vehicle where rattle originates (refer to Section 8B in the Service Information Manual). Reinstall after making the following modification to the mounting bracket assembly. Refer to Figure 1.
Assemble mounting bracket in following order as shown in View B of Figure 1:
1. Washer from previous (Production) bracket assembly.
2. Horn bracket.
3. Pencil brace.
4. New bolt (washer attached), P/N #11507083, or equivalent bolt with hex head and large flat washer, 6.3mm, 1.81 thread pitch, and 25mm long.
General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
