POOR FIT AT BODY MOLDINGS REPLACE UPPER/LOWER MOLDINGS

SUBJECT: DOOR WINDOW FRAME MOULDINGS/APPLIQUE POOR FIT (REPLACE UPPER OR LOWER WINDOW FRAME MOULDINGS)

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1990 TORONADOS 'E'

Some 1990 Toronados may experience a condition of gapping/loose mouldings or applique on the door window frame. This condition may be caused by the installation of early Production mouldings. To repair this condition replace the upper or lower window frame mouldings with the following part numbers:

To repair a poor fit condition of the door frame front applique moulding, use the following procedure:

1. Remove the door window upper reveal moulding.

2. Remove the door frame front applique mouldings shown in Fig. 2.

3. Remove the rubber strip attached to the applique and discard. Refer to Figure. 2.

4. Replace the applique ensuring a tight fit on the door frame flange where the rubber strip was removed. This will require a new screw location for the applique in the mirror patch area.

5. Replace door window upper reveal moulding.
