Effective October 1, 1989, the AC-Delco Service Centers will handle the exchange of Nippondenso Digital Electronic Instrument Clusters, VIC Monitor or VIC Controller.
Please adhere to the following procedure if a part is determined to be inoperative:
1. The dealer will phone the AC-Delco Service Center to request an exchange unit for a Nippondenso digital electronic instrument cluster, VIC controller or VIC monitor.
2. AC-Delco Service Center will discuss any necessary system diagnostics concerns, and determine if a part is actually required.
3. If a part is required the service center will need to obtain the following information from the dealer:
a. Year and body style of vehicle b. Part number of part required C. Mileage of vehicle d. Dealer code e. Dealer address f. Dealer telephone number 9. Name of person ordering at dealer h. Vehicle Identification Number
The AC-Delco Service Center will send the replacement part to the dealer via UPS NEXT DAY SERVICE.
Return of the inoperative part from the dealer to the AC-Delco Service Center should be via UPS ground.

The dealer will be provided a core charge reimbursement upon receipt of the malfunctioning electronic instrument cluster. Oldsmobile will not reimburse a dealer for the core charge amount on a warranty claim.
Oldsmobile will reimburse dealers for this repair during the warranty period using Labor Operation Number N4180. An additional 0.2 hour administrative allowance will be paid if applied for. This additional time should be added to the published time allowance in the Labor Time Guide and entered in the "Labor Hours" column of the Warranty Claim Form. UPS shipping changes should be entered in the sublet column of the claim.
