The following pages should be corrected in the 1990 Toronado Final Service Manual:
8A-20-8 and 8A-133-0- The cranking fuel enable input to ECM pin 1C12 is incorrectly shown with a 5 volt pull-up inside the ECM. It should be shown with a 12 volt pull-up instead. To correct, cross out "5V" inside the ECM at pin 1C12 and write in "12V" in its place.
8A-133-4, Test B, Table 1 - The correct result of checking voltage between pins A2 and B1 is "Battery", not 5V.
8A-133-5, Test D, Table 1 - The correct result of checking voltage between pin A2 and ground is "4 - 7 volts", not "2 - 3 volts."
8A-133-6, Test D, Table 2 - The correct result of checking voltage between pin A2 and ground is "Battery", not 5V.
8A-202-27 - The connector views shown for the remote cassette player also apply to the remote compact disc player.
General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
