DRIVER SEAT CANNOT BE ADJUSTED HIGH ENOUGH--CORRECTION KIT

SUBJECT: FRONT SEATS CANNOT BE ADJUSTED HIGH ENOUGH - INSTALL CORRECTION KIT

MODELS/YEARS: 1992 EIGHTY EIGHT 1991-92 NINETY EIGHT 1993 MODEL

THIS BULLETIN HAS BEEN UPDATED TO INCLUDED THE 1993 MODEL YEAR.

CONDITION:

---------- The front seats may not have enough upward travel. (Both power and manual seats).

CORRECTION:

---------- 1. Obtain Kit, Part Number 12520796 which is currently available from GMSPO.

2. Remove the four (4) hexhead bolts attaching the seat frame to the adjuster. On vehicles with the 6 - way power seat option, the adjuster must be in the full "up" position to remove these bolts.

3. Insert the spacer between the seat frame and adjuster at all four bolt locations (see illustration).

4. Coat threads of the new replacement bolts with thread sealant/adhesive, GM Part No. 12345382, and attach the seat frame to the adjuster.

5. Torque the attaching bolts to 22-28 N. m (1 7 lbs. ft.).
