SERVICE MANUAL UPDATE SEC.3G-4 REVISED ALDL CIRCUIT INFO

SUBJECT: SERVICE MANUAL UPDATE COMPUTER COMMAND RIDE REVISED ALDL CIRCUIT INFORMATION

MODELS/YEARS: 1991 NINETY-EIGHT

The IMPORTANT statement In Section 3G, Page 3G-4 is incorrect. Please make the following revision to your 1991 Ninety-Eight Service Manual.

IMPORTANT: Once the ALDL circuit has cleared codes, it will turn OFF both driver select switch LED's for 1 second, and then turn ON both driver select switch LED's for 1 second. The system will then resume normal operation. If both driver select switch LED's remain ON, the code(s) have not been successfully cleared, or a fault condition still exists.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
