Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Retained Accessory Power (RAP)?

Go to Step 2

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  2. Disconnect the RAP relay.
  3. Inspect the power windows, radio and the sunroof for correct operation.

Do the sunroof and the power windows operate?

Go to Step 3

Repair the short to battery in the power windows, radio and sunroof feed circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 9

Using a test lamp connected to a battery, probe the RAP relay control circuit.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 6

Replace the RAP relay.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 9

Test the RAP relay control circuit for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 9

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the BCM. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Important: Set up the new body control module. Refer to Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration in Body Control System.

Replace the body control module. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control System.

Did you complete the replacement and the set up procedure?

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
