Removal Procedure
Important: The sunroof actuator can be replaced with the glass in any position.
The sunroof actuator contains no limit switches and can rotate its drive shaft
in either direction.
- Remove the headliner. Refer to
Headlining Trim Panel Replacement
in Interior Trim.
- Remove the tie strap from
the wiring harness.
- Remove the sunroof actuator (1) to sunroof module screws.
- Disconnect the sunroof
actuator electrical harness from the sunroof module harness.
- Pull the sunroof actuator straight down to disengage the drive
gear.
- Remove the sunroof actuator from the sunroof module.
Installation Procedure
- Align the sunroof actuator
to the sunroof module.
- Push the sunroof actuator (1) straight in to engage its drive
gear into the Position Encoding System (PES) Module.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the sunroof
actuator to sunroof module screws.
Tighten
Tighten the sunroof actuator to sunroof module screws to 2.75 N·m
(24 lb in).
- Connect the sunroof actuator
electrical harness to the sunroof module harness.
- Install the wiring harness to sunroof module tie-straps.
- Check the operation of the sunroof module in all positions.
- Install the headliner. Refer to
Headlining Trim Panel Replacement
in Interior Trim.
