Test Description

The numbers below refer to the step numbers on the diagnostic table.

  1. This step will test for an intermittent condition when testing if the sunroof will slide to the vent position stopping, due to a soft stop. If the sunroof operates properly to the full vent position, then inspect the sunroof limit switch LS1 for a stuck switch causing an intermittent short to ground, or inspect the sunroof limit switch LS2 for a poor connection or a faulty switch causing an open.

  2. Testing for a short to ground in the LS1 limit switch circuit or a stuck limit switch closed.

Schematic Reference: Sunroof Schematics

DEFINITION: Sunroof will slide to vent position, but it will not stop at the soft stop (full vent) position. As the glass slides past the soft stop vent position the glass tends to shift out of alignment.

  1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  2. Press the sunroof switch to slide the sunroof glass to the full vent position until it stops
  3. While listening to the sunroof module, press the sunroof switch several times to the vent position.

Does the sunroof module respond to the switch being pressed by clicking noises with each press of the switch?
