Did you review the Power Windows Description and Operation and perform the necessary inspections?

Verify that the inoperative passenger door power window fault is present.

Do the passenger door power windows operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

  1. Disconnect the inoperative passenger window switch.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. Probe the power window master switch lockout signal circuit of the inoperative passenger window switch with a test lamp connected to a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 4

  1. Connect a test lamp between the power window master switch up and power window master switch down signal circuits of the inoperative passenger window switch.
  2. Press the driver window switch to the up and down positions.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 5

  1. Connect the inoperative passenger window switch.
  2. Disconnect the inoperative passenger window regulator motor.
  3. Connect a test lamp between the power window motor up circuit and the power window motor down circuit of the inoperative passenger window regulator motor.
  4. Press the inoperative passenger window switch to the up and down positions.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 9

Test the power window master switch lockout signal circuit for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the appropriate power window master switch signal circuits for a short to voltage or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the appropriate power window motor up and down circuits for a short to voltage or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the inoperative passenger window regulator motor. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the driver window switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the inoperative passenger window regulator motor. Refer to Front Side Door Window Regulator Motor Replacement or Rear Side Door Window Regulator Motor Replacement .
