Verify that the inoperative power door locks fault is present.

Does the power door locks system operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

  1. Connect a scan tool.
  2. Turn the ignition ON, with the engine OFF.
  3. With a scan tool, observe the door lock switch parameter in the body control module (BCM) Input data list.

Does the scan tool display Inactive?

Go to Step 4

With a scan tool, observe the door unlock switch parameter in the body control module (BCM) Input data list.

Does the scan tool display Inactive?

Go to Step 5

  1. With a scan tool, observe the door lock switch parameter in the body control module (BCM) Input data list.
  2. Activate the driver door lock switch , then the front passenger door lock switch to the Lock position.

Does the scan tool display Active when the switches are activated?

  1. With a scan tool, observe the door unlock switch parameter in the body control module (BCM) Input data list.
  2. Activate the driver door lock switch , then the front passenger door lock switch to the Unlock position.

Does the scan tool display Active when the switches are activated?

Are all of the door locks inoperative?

Is the driver door lock the only inoperative lock?
