Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the power steering pulley from the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement .
  2. Remove the power steering pressure hose from the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Pressure Pipe/Hose Replacement .
  3. Remove the power steering return hose from the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Return Hose Replacement .

  4. Object Number: 294001  Size: SH
  5. Remove the power steering pump mounting bolts.
  6. Remove the power steering pump assembly.
  7. Remove the power steering pump reservoir from the power steering pump.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 294001  Size: SH
  1. Install the power steering pump reservoir to the power steering pump.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the power steering pump mounting bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 34 N·m (25 lb ft).

  5. Install the power steering return hose to the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Return Hose Replacement .
  6. Install the power steering pressure hose to the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Pressure Pipe/Hose Replacement .
  7. Install the power steering pump pulley to the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement .
  8. Fill the power steering system. Refer to Checking and Adding Power Steering Fluid .
  9. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
  10. Inspect the power steering system for leaks. Power Steering Fluid Leaks .
