Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 281932  Size: SH
  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Disconnect the engine right coolant heater cord at the engine right coolant heater (3).

  3. Object Number: 281918  Size: SH
  4. Remove the engine right coolant heater bolt.
  5. Remove the engine right coolant heater.

Installation Procedure

Important: Align the threaded hole in the engine block with the hole labeled R (1) on the right (rear) coolant heater.

  1. Install the engine right coolant heater.

  2. Object Number: 281918  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

    Notice: The heater cord must not touch the engine, hot pipes, manifold, or any moving parts. Route the cord to the left front of the engine compartment securing with tie straps as necessary to prevent damage.

  3. Install the engine right coolant heater retaining bolt.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the engine right coolant heater bolt to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  5. Connect the engine right coolant heater cord to the engine right coolant heater (3).
  6. Lower the vehicle.
