Without Keyless Entry

The rear compartment lid lock release solenoid is charged when the following conditions exist:

    • The vehicle is in PARK.
    • The rear compartment lid release switch is activated.

When the rear compartment lid release solenoid is energized, the rear compartment is released.

If the vehicle's transaxle is in a position other than PARK, the rear compartment lid lock release solenoid is de-energized. The rear compartment cannot be released.

With Keyless Entry

The rear compartment lid lock release solenoid is energized when the following conditions exist:

    • The vehicle is in PARK.
    • The rear compartment release button on the keyless entry transmitter is pressed.

When these conditions exist, the switch in the Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR) closes and the rear compartment lid lock release solenoid is energized. When the rear compartment lid lock release solenoid is energized, the rear compartment releases.

If the vehicle's transaxle is in a position other than PARK, the rear compartment lid lock release solenoid is inactive. The rear compartment cannot be released.
