Removal Procedure
- Open the fuel filler door.
- Remove the fuel filler cap and tether from the fuel filler door.
- Remove the fuel filler pocket to fuel filler neck bolts.
- Remove the fuel filler door actuator.Refer to Body Rear End Schematic Icons
- Remove the fuel filler door actuator cable from the fuel filler pocket.
- Apply protective tape to the opening around the top of the fuel filler pocket
- Use a small flat bladed tool to press down and out from the top edge of the fuel filler pocket to remove from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Align the fuel filler pocket to the vehicle.
- Install the fuel filler door actuator.Refer to Body Rear End Schematic Icons
- Install the fuel filler door actuator cable to the fuel filler pocket nut.
- Install the fuel filler pocket to fuel filler neck.Apply pressure until fully seated.
- Install the fuel filler pocket to fuel filler neck bolts.
- Install the fuel filler cap and tether to the fuel filler door.
- Close the fuel filler door.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the fuel filler door actuator cable to fuel filler pocket nut
to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
Tighten
Tighten the fuel filler neck bolts to 5 N·m (44 lb in).
