Does the system operate normally?

1. Disconnect the front height power seat motor connector.
2. Connect a test light between the power seat front upward directional feed of the motor connector to B+.

Does the test light illuminate?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 8

1. Connect a test light between the power seat front upward directional feed of the motor connector to a good ground.
2. Press and hold the power seat switch in the front up direction.

Does the test light illuminate?

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 10

Connect a test light between the power seat front downward directional feed of the motor connector to B+.

Does the test light illuminate?

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 11

1. Connect a test light between the power seat front downward directional feed of the motor connector to a good ground.
2. Press and hold the power seat switch in the front downward direction.

Does the test light illuminate?

Go to Step 7

Inspect for poor connections at the front height power seat motor connector. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 16

Test the power seat front upward directional feed for a high resistance or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and complete the condition?

Go to Step 16

Inspect the power seat front upward directional feed for poor a connection at the power seat switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Test the power seat front upward directional feed for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and complete the condition?

Test the power seat front downward directional feed for a high resistance or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect the power seat front downward directional feed for a poor connection at the power seat switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the power seat front upward directional feed for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace power seat switch. Refer to Power Seat Switch Replacement .
