Does the system operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

Connect a test light between the battery positive feed circuit of the power seat switch connector to a known good ground.

Does the test light illuminate?

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 4

Test for an open, high resistance or a short to ground in the battery positive feed circuit of the power seat switch. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 10

Go to Step 5

Repair a poor connection in the battery positive feed circuit of the power seat switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Connect a test light between the battery positive feed and the ground circuit of the power seat switch.

Does the test light illuminate?

Go to Step 8

Go to Step 7

Repair the ground circuit for a high resistance or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Go to Step 10

Inspect for poor connections at the power seat switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the power seat switch. Refer to Power Seat Switch Replacement .
