GM Service Manual Online
For 1990-2009 cars only

The power window system consists of:

    • A master control switch located on the driver's door.
    • Individual control switches at each door.

The power window system is active when the ignition switch is in the on position, or when the Retain Accessory Power (RAP) is active.

The user can operate each window by pressing its corresponding control switch. Pushing the control switch in the down position lowers the window. Pushing the control switch up raises the window.

The driver switch is the master power window switch. The driver has remote control access to the rest of the windows.

On vehicles equipped with 4-doors, the driver can activate the lockout feature. This feature disables all control switches, thus preventing operation of the windows from each corresponding switch. Only the driver's switch can control the window operation.
