Removal Procedure
  1. Raise the rear door window to the full closed position.
  2. Remove the rear door trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  3. Remove the rear door handle water deflector.

    4. Object Number: 164522 Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the rear door rod-to-handle clips securing the rods to the rear door inside handle.
  5. Remove the rods from the rear door inside handle.

    6. Object Number: 164505 Size: SH
  6. Remove the rear door inside handle to rear door rivet.
    7. 6.1. Create a pilot hole by using a center punch. Drive the mounting rivet mandrel for the rear door inside handle into the rivet head.
    6.2. Use a 6.35-mm (¼-in) drill bit in order to drill out the rivet.
  7. Remove the rear door inside handle from the rear door.

Installation Procedure
  1. Align the rear door inside handle tabs to the rear door.

    2. Object Number: 164522 Size: SH
  2. Align the rear door rod-to-handle clips to the rods and the rear door inside handle.
  3. Apply pressure to the clips until fully seated.

    4. Object Number: 164505 Size: SH
  4. Install the rear door inside handle to rear door rivet.
  5. Install the rear door handle water deflector.
  6. Install the rear door trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
