J 38778 Door Trim Pad and Garnish Clip Remover

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 183254  Size: SH
  1. Remove the screws from the front edge of the rocker panel molding at the fenders.
  2. Remove the push-in retainers from the bottom of the rocker panel molding using J 38778 .
  3. Open the doors to access the push-in retainers.
  4. Remove the push-in retainers from the top inside edge of the rocker molding at the sill area using J 38778
  5. Remove the rocker molding from the rocker panel.

Installation Procedure

  1. Position the rocker panel molding to the rocker panel.
  2. Insert the push-in retainers on rocker molding into slots on rocker molding in sill area.
  3. Insert push-in retainers on rocker molding into slots on rocker molding to bottom of rocker panel.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the screws to the front edge of the rocker molding at the fender.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the rocker panel molding to fender screw to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
