Did you perform the Instrument Cluster Diagnostic System Check?

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Instrument Cluster

1. Install a scan tool.
2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
3. Using a scan tool, observe the engine oil life percent in engine data 2.

Does the scan tool display zero percent with the change engine oil message on?

Go to Step 3

Go to Step 4

Reset change engine oil life. Refer to GM Oil Life System Resetting .

Has the change engine oil been reset?

Go to Step 5

Replace instrument panel cluster (IPC). Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 5

--

1. Install a scan tool.
2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
3. Using a scan tool, observe the Engine Oil Life percent in Engine Data 2 list.

Does the scan tool display 100 percent with the engine oil message off?
