Was the Instrument Cluster Diagnostic System Check performed?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the off position.
  2. Install a scan tool to the data link connector (DLC).
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the on position.
  4. Using the scan tool, establish communication with the instrument cluster.
  5. On the scan tool, select special functions under the main menu.
  6. On the scan tool, select output control under the special functions main menu.
  7. On the scan tool, select tachometer gauge sweep test under the output control main menu.

Does the tachometer gauge perform a full sweep when commanded to do so?
