FRT. LICENSE PLATE BRACKET BREAKAGE (N/P RELEASED)

SUBJECT FRONT LICENSE PLATE BRACKET BREAKAGE - NEW BRACKET

MODELS/YEARS 1992 EIGHTY EIGHT, 1991-92 NINETY EIGHT -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

CONDITION:

---------- Some 1992 Eighty Eight and 1991-92 Ninety Eight models may exhibit front license plate bracket breakage.

CORRECTION:

----------- To correct this condition, the following procedure must be followed.

1. Obtain the new bracket, part number 25606535, which is currently available from GMSPO.

2. Line up the bottom license bracket holes with the attaching holes in the fascia and bumper bar. Hold the bracket firmly in this position.

3. Drill two (2) 5.5 mm (7/32") diameter holes through the fascia and impact bar using the bracket for hole location.

4. Remove the license bracket. Using the holes drilled in through the bumper bar in Step 3 as a locator, drill a 38.0 mm (1 1/2") diameter hole through the fascia only in both locations.

5. Slide the license plate bracket into place, install attaching screws arid tighten.
