DIGITAL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER GEAR SELECTION INDICATOR

A recent ruling requires a change regarding the transmission gear selection indicator on Oldsmobiles equipped with a digital electronic instrument cluster and an integral PRNDL. All Oldsmobiles with an illuminated PRNDL in the digital electronic instrument cluster produced after November 15, 1987 will include the statement "Vehicle is in Park Before PRNDL is illuminated" in the instrument cluster area.

If an Oldsmobile with this statement requires a replacement repair, the replacement part must also include this statement. Service parts which include this statement may be installed when servicing past model Oldsmobiles'. As parts become available, all respective service parts will include this statement.
