---------- The 1990 W Car column shift indicator consists of orange bars over and under the gear designators in the instrument cluster (i e. , P,R,N,O,D,2,1). Some very tall or short drivers may find one or the other of the two orange bars is out of their normal line of sight. Should a driver comment that they find this condition inconvenient, a new indicator assembly is available with larger bars to enhance visibility.
---------- The new indicator is used in production after VIN's L9129383 and L1118247. The indicator may be replaced using the following procedure:
1. Remove instrument cluster from vehicle following Service Manual procedures.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
