CONVERTIBLE SERVICING PROCEDURE INFORMATION

1988 CUTLASS SUPREME

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

In June, 1988, Oldsmobile Division will ship (54) 1988 Cutlass Supreme "Indy 500" Pace Car replicas. These are production vehicles which have been converted into convertibles by Cars & Concepts, inc., of Brighton Michigan. in addition to a functional convertible top and Pace Car decals, each of these vehicles will have ground effects panels and a Head-Up Display (HUD) unit mounted on the driver's side of the instrument panel.

These vehicles will be warranted similarly to other 1988 model vehicles (12 months/12,000 miles) with exceptions as noted below. All will have an "in- service" date of July 1,1988, which is based on a June, 1988, delivery date.

OWNER'S MANUAL AND SERVICE MANUAL --------------------------------- A specific Convertible and Head-Up Display Owner's Manual supplement and a specific service manual will be shipped in the trunk of each vehicle. The convertible top cover storage container (located in the rear compartment) has a pocket designed to house both manuals. These manuals contain information on all of the unique features of these cars as described above and are to remain with the vehicle. Your Oldsmobile Zone Office and Oldsmobile's Home Office Product Service Engineering department will have extra copies available.

WARRANTY SERVICE AND PARTS

All service procedures specific to the convertible top and Head-Up Display will be described in the supplemental service manual located in the rear compartment of each car.

Head-Up Display

Technical assistance and parts for the HUD unit will be available on an "as required" basis directly through Dayton Speedometer as discussed in the in- car Service Manual Supplement (Telephone: 1-800-543-9687 outside Ohio, or 1- 800-543-0719 within Ohio). The HUD labor operation numbers and time allowances will be issued as a supplement to your 1988 Oldsmobile Labor Time Guide Manual; they are also shown below for reference.

HUD Components - R&R

HUD Assembly: R3100 0.5 Hour Dimmer Switch: R3105 0.4 Hour

Convertible Top Components

All warranty claims for repair work done on the convertible top or components will be authorized and paid for directly by Cars & Concepts, Inc., of Brighton, Michigan. Replacement parts and technical assistance as required will be available by contacting Cars and Concepts, Inc., (Telephone: 1-800- 521-9753 outside Michigan, or 1-313-227-1400 within Michigan). Ask for the "Service and Warranty" department when calling these numbers.

NOTE: This bulletin applies only to 1988 Cutlass Supremes built with a Head-Up Display and convertible top (54 vehicles). Any service procedures required on these vehicles and not relating directly to these systems should be serviced and submitted to Oldsmobile Division for reimbursement (if under warranty) using normal warranty procedures.
