CODE 1009 VEHICLE SPEED INPUT-SHORT CIRCUIT
Code 1009 will set if the Ignition is in RUN and the serial data link speed is 5 MPH or greater than the vehicle speed input for 5 seconds and the Vehicle Speed Input at the Electronic Instrument Cluster is LO.
TEST EXPLANATIONS
The circled numbers refer to the test procedures in the trouble tree.
1 This step checks if a short to ground exists in CKT 389 or the Electronic Instrument Cluster is at fault.
2 This step determines if the short exists in the Cruise Control Module.
3 This step determines if the short exists in the Chime Module.
4 This step determines if the short exists in the Electronic Control Module or in CKT 389.
