SUBJECT: ENGINE DOES NOT STAY RUNNING ON INITIAL COLD START

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1989-90 'A' W/4T60 AND 'A, N' W/3T40 AND 3300 ENGINE (VIN 'N') (NEW MEMCALS)

Some 1989-90 A and N models equipped with a 3300 engine, (VIN N) , may experience a condition described as engine does not stay running on initial cold start and/or experience poor cold engine performance.

If these conditions are experienced on a vehicle when the basic engine controls and systems are performing properly, and cannot be repaired by using currently published service and diagnostic procedures, it may be necessary to install a new service Mem-Cal.
