CONDITION: Some 1991 Cutlass Calais Models equipped with a 3300 (VIN N) Engine may exhibit engine shudder during drive away and/or harshness during idle.
CAUSE: Collapsed right rear engine mount.
CORRECTION: With the engine off and normal engine weight on the mount, inspect the gap in the mount as shown in the illustration below. If the gap is less than 6.5 mm (1/4 inch), the mount is collapsed and should be replaced. P/N 14074093 is currrently available from GMSPO. If the gap is greater than 6.5 mm (1/4 inch), the mount is not collapsed and other causes of the shudder or harshness should be investigated.
