The 1991 Cutlass Calais Owners Manual contains an error on page 18 under the column headed "Split Fold Down Rear Seat (Option)". The entire second paragraph should be replaced with the following information:

The AM9 Split-Folding Rear Seat Back on all 1991 Oldsmobile Cutlass Calais models have an internal locking system design, which allows the seat back to be folded down from the passenger compartment side or the trunk side. The seat back lock will engage only when the vehicle decelerates beyond a specific rate.
