TAIL LAMP REFLECTOR STRIP WARPED-NEW REFLECTOR STRIP

TAIL LAMP REFLECTOR STRIP WARPAGE SUBJECT (INSTALL NEW REFLECTOR STRIP)

MODELS/YEARS 1989-90 CUTLASS CALAIS MODELS

The reflector strip on the lower bezel assembly of the vehicles involved may warp and distort when exposed to high ambient temperatures. A redesigned reflector strip has been released for production and service. Vehicles built after vehicle number LM783982 will have the new bezels.

To correct this condition, it will be necessary to replace the old bezel reflector assembly with the redesigned part as follows:

1. Remove the tail lamp assembly from the vehicle as described in the appropriate Cutlass Calais Service Manual.

2. Remove the reflector - bezel assembly from the tail lamp assembly by releasing the 11 lock tabs along the lower edge of the tail lamp assembly.

3. Install the new reflector strip by aligning the 11 lock tabs and snapping the strip in place.

4. Install the tail lamp assembly as described in the appropriate Cutlass Calais Service Manual.

5. Check for proper operation of all rear lights.
