WIRE WHEEL COVER NOISE VEHICLES WITH N91 OPTION

MODELS/YEARS 1988 DELTA 88 AND NINETY-EIGHT MODELS WITH N91 OPTION; CORRECT WITH INSULATOR KIT (P/N 25536180) FROM GMSPO

Comments have been received of noisy wire wheel covers on the 1988 Delta 88 and Ninety-Eight models. This condition can be addressed by using the insulation kit, Part Number 25536180, obtained from GMSPO.

Use the following installation procedure:

1. Remove wheel cover

2. Prior to installation, wipe centering clips clean of dirt and grease with wax and grease remover or adhesive cleaner.

3. Remove adhesive tape liner from insulator.

4. Slide insulator slit toward ring (see Figure 1) over outer curl of cover (5 places) where centering clips exist. Press firmly to ensure adhesion.

5. Slide rubber O-Ring on lock bracket stud.

6. Install wheel cover.

7. Inspect wheel cover to ensure no contact to wheel weights.

NOTICE: To prevent a recurring noise, do not use a hammer or mallet to install wire wheel covers. This may resut in damage to the wheel cover rim or anti-rotation clips.

The kit will also be shipped with the vehicle to be installed on cover at time of delivery. This time is included in the New Car Delivery.
