RUST FORMING ON LUGGAGE RACK SCREWS REPLACE SLATS & SCREWS

SUBJECT: RUST FORMING ON LUGGAGE RACK SLAT SCREWS (REPLACE SLATS AND SCREWS)

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1991 B CAR

Condition: Rust forming on luggage rack slat screws.

Cause: Galvanic corrosion between screw and metal reinforcement in slat.

Correction: Replace slats and screws with the following part numbers as outlined in the service manual.

Chevrolet slat part number: 10196178 (5 required)

Chevrolet screw part number: 10196105 (25 required)

Buick and Oldsmobile slat part number: 10196179 - (5 required) Buick and Oldsmobile screw part number: 10196105 - (20 required)

Use the most applicable Labour Operation and Time from the Canadian Labour Time Guide.
