Verify that the IP compartment lamp is inoperative.

Does the IP compartment lamp operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

  1. Open the IP compartment door.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position. Do not start the engine.
  3. Connect a test lamp from CKT 1732 (ORN) at the IP compartment lamp to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Does the test lamp light?

Locate and repair the open or high resistance in CKT 1732 (ORN). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Connect a test lamp between the IP compartment lamp cavity A and cavity B. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 8

Inspect for an open or high resistance in CKT 1050 (BLK). Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Does an open exist?

Repair the open or high resistance in CKT 1050 (BLK). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Test the Bulb for an open filament and replace if necessary.

Replace the IP compartment lamp assembly if the bulb tests good. Refer to Instrument Cluster Bulb Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
