Front Seat Back Replacement Bench

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 298931  Size: SH
  1. Remove the seat from the vehicle. Refer to Bench Seat Replacement .
  2. Remove the recliner assembly. Refer to Seat Back Recliner Handle Replacement .
  3. Remove the seat back pivot bolt.
  4. Remove the seat back from the lower frame.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 298931  Size: SH
  1. Install the seat back to the lower frame.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the seat back pivot bolt.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the seat back pivot bolt to 47 N·m (35 lb ft).

  5. Install the recliner assembly. Refer to Seat Back Recliner Handle Replacement .
  6. Install the seat to the vehicle. Refer to Bench Seat Replacement .

Front Seat Back Replacement Bucket

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 695459  Size: SH
  1. Remove the seat from the vehicle. Refer to Bucket Seat Replacement .
  2. Remove the seat back cover and pad. Refer to Seat Back Cover and Pad Replacement .
  3. Remove the seat cushion trim cover and pad. Refer to Seat Cushion Trim Cover and Pad Replacement .
  4. Remove the bolts securing the seat back to the seat adjuster assembly.
  5. Remove the seat back.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the seat back to the seat adjuster assembly.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.   3. Install the bolts securing the seat back to the seat adjuster assembly.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the seat back bolts to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).

  5. Install the seat cushion trim cover and pad. Refer to Seat Cushion Trim Cover and Pad Replacement .
  6. Install the seat back cover and pad. Refer to Seat Back Cover and Pad Replacement .
  7. Install the seat in the vehicle. Refer to Bucket Seat Replacement .
