Removal Procedure
- Set the park brake.
- Block the wheels.
- Remove the left-side instrument panel sound insulator. Refer to
Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side
.
- Remove the center instrument panel sound insulator. Refer to
Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Center
.
- Release the park brake release cable from the park brake lever.
Refer to
Parking Brake Front Cable Replacement
in park brake.
- Remove the screw that retains the courtesy lamp to the knee bolster.
- Remove the screws that retain the knee bolster trim panel to the
instrument panel.
- Remove the knee bolster trim panel from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the knee bolster
trim panel to the vehicle.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the screws
that retain the knee bolster trim panel to the instrument panel.
Tighten
• | Tighten the Torx® screws to 9 N·m (80 lb in). |
• | Tighten the hex head screws to 1.9 N·m (17 lb in). |
- Install the park brake release cable to the park brake lever.

- Install the center instrument panel sound insulator. Refer to
Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Center
- Install the left-side instrument panel sound insulator. Refer
to
Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side
