Verify that the blower motor only operates in high speed.

Does the blower motor operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

  1. Disconnect the blower motor relay.
  2. Connect a test lamp between the DK BLU wire (101) and ground.
  3. Turn the ignition to the ON position.
  4. Turn off the engine.
  5. Turn the mode selector to HEAT.
  6. Cycle the blower motor switch from low to MEDIUM 1 TO MEDIUM 2.

Does the test lamp light with the switch in any position?

Replace the blower motor relay.

Is the replacement complete?

Replace the blower motor resistor. Refer to Blower Motor Resistor Replacement in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
