Verify that the blower motor low speed is inoperative.

Does the blower motor operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

  1. Disconnect the blower motor resistor.
  2. Connect a test lamp between CKT 64 (BRN) wire and ground.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  4. Turn OFF the engine.
  5. Turn the mode selector switch to HEAT.

Does the test lamp light?

Repair the open in CKT 64 (BRN) wire between the blower motor resistor and S235.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 6

Replace the blower motor resistor. Refer to Blower Motor Resistor Replacement in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.

Is the replacement complete?

Go to Step 6

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
