For a 4WD vehicle, skip steps 3 and 4.
Important: Perform this last step only if the check valve needs replacement.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Connect the reactor pipe and check valve by installing the spring clamp and tightening the pipe locknut.
Tighten
Tighten the locknut to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
Important: Clean the manifold mounting surface of any debris or carbon buildup. An airhole could adversely effect vehicle emissions and driveability.
Tighten
Tighten the mounting bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
Tighten the reactor pipe assembly retainer bolt to 40 N·m (30 lb ft).
For a 4WD vehicle, skip steps 6 and 7.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 33 N·m (24 lb ft).
