Check Gages

The CHECK GAGES indicator illuminates in the instrument control panel (IPC) when one the following occurs:

    • The multifunction alarm module (MFAM) detects that the engine oil pressure is approximately 34 kPa (5 psi), or below.
The MFAM receives the engine oil pressure information via the engine oil pressure check gages signal circuit.
    • The MFAM detects that the engine coolant temperature is approximately 118°C (244°F), or above.
The MFAM receives the engine coolant temperature information via the engine coolant temperature check gages signal circuit.

The MFAM grounds the check gages indicator control circuit in order to illuminate the CHECK GAGES indicator.

Fasten Safety Belt

The fasten safety belt indicator illuminates in the IPC, for approximately 6 seconds, when the seat belt alarm module detects that the ignition transitions to ON. The seat belt alarm module controls the illumination of the indicator and is located inside the IPC. No external circuits are involved.
