Sunroof Express Open - keywords glass initialization inoperative module motor roof switch vent

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Sunroof may not express open. This could occur if the sunroof lost initialization, after service has been performed to the sunroof or module and/or if the battery was disconnected for an unrelated repair. To reinitialize the sunroof, follow the procedure below.

With the sunroof fully installed, use the switch to move the glass to the vent position. Once the glass travels to the vent position and stops, hold the switch for about 20 to 30 seconds. Observe the sunroof glass while holding the switch in the vent position. The sunroof glass will move down slightly when initialization is completed.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
