Admin Msg - 2006 HUMMER H3 Body Control Module (BCM) Replacements

An in-depth investigation of a large number of H3 Body Control Modules returned through the Warranty Parts Return Center were found not to have a detectable fault on 84% of the parts. In addition, more than 60% of the vehicles had other repairs that could be associated with the BCM replacement. In order to better understand any potential weaknesses in our diagnostic procedures or unknown product-related contributing factors, we are asking technicians to contact Technical Assistance prior to replacing a BCM for any reason. Refer to PI number PIT3836 for instructions and a list of questions that you will be asked by the Technical Assistance Consultant.
