Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to Fuel and Evaporative Emission Pipe Caution in the Preface section.

Caution: Refer to Gasoline/Gasoline Vapors Caution in the Preface section.

Notice: Refer to Fuel and Evaporative Emission Hose/Pipe Connection Cleaning Notice in the Preface section.

  1. Raise and support the vehicle, high enough to access the fuel fill hose through the wheelhouse liner. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the left rear wheelhouse liner. Refer to Wheelhouse Panel Replacement in Body Rear End.

  3. Object Number: 1564241  Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the EVAP line quick connect (1) near the fuel inlet. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
  5. Cut and discard the tie straps (2) securing the evaporative emission (EVAP) line to the fuel fill pipe.
  6. Disconnect the EVAP line quick connect (2) from the fuel tank. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
  7. Disconnect the EVAP line quick connect (4) from the EVAP canister. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
  8. Remove the EVAP line from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the EVAP line to the vehicle.
  2. Connect the EVAP line quick connect (4) to the EVAP canister. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
  3. Connect the EVAP line quick connect (2) to the fuel tank. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
  4. Install NEW tie straps (2) securing the EVAP line to the fuel fill pipe.
  5. Connect the EVAP line quick connect (1) near the fuel inlet. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
  6. Lower the vehicle.
  7. Install the left rear wheelhouse liner. Refer to Wheelhouse Panel Replacement in Body Rear End.
