Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the liftgate trim panel. Refer to Liftgate Trim Panel Replacement .
  2. Disconnect the lock actuator electrical connector.

  3. Object Number: 832256  Size: SH

    Important: Note location of arm prior to removal.

  4. Remove the fastener (1) retaining the control arm to the actuator.
  5. Remove the fastener (2) retaining the actuator to control arm assembly plate,
  6. Slide the actuator upward, and remove the actuator from the plate.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 832256  Size: SH
  1. Align the tabs on the actuator to the grooves (3) on the control assembly plate, and slide the actuator down into position.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install fastener (2) retaining the actuator to the control assembly plate.
  4. Important: Install the control arm in the position noted during removal.

  5. Install fastener (1) retaining the control arm to the actuator.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  7. Install the liftgate trim panel. Refer to Liftgate Trim Panel Replacement .
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the fastener to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
