Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 158305  Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the accelerator control cable (1) from the accelerator pedal (2).
  2. Push the accelerator control cable through the bulkhead grommet.

  3. Object Number: 55563  Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the accelerator control cable (1) from the throttle lever (3) by loosening the cable locknut and adjusting the nut.
  5. Remove the accelerator control cable (1) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 55563  Size: SH
  1. Connect the accelerator control cable (1) to the throttle lever (3).
  2. Secure the accelerator control cable with the cable locknut and the adjusting nut. Do not tighten fully.

  3. Object Number: 158305  Size: SH
  4. Push the accelerator control cable through the bulkhead grommet.
  5. Connect the accelerator control cable (1) to the accelerator pedal (2).

Adjustment

  1. Inspect the accelerator control cable for 10 to 15 mm (0.4 to 0.6-inch) of end play.
  2. Loosen the adjusting nut and the cable locknut at the Throttle Body unit.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Adjust the accelerator control cable end play until it is within the correct specification and tighten the cable locknut and the adjusting nut.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the accelerator cable locknut adjusting nut to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
