Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 55581  Size: SH
  1. Remove the three throttle cover bolts.
  2. Remove the throttle cover.
  3. Disconnect the IAC valve air intake hose.
  4. Disconnect the IAC valve electrical connector (2).
  5. Disconnect the coolant hoses (3) from the IAC valve (1).
  6. Remove the two bolts (4) from the IAC valve (1) to the intake manifold.
  7. Remove the IAC valve (1) from the intake manifold.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 55581  Size: SH
  1. Install the IAC valve and new gasket to the intake manifold.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Secure the IAC valve with two bolts (4).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the IAC valve bolts to 18-28 N·m (13.5-20 lb  ft).

  5. Connect the two coolant hoses (3) to the IAC valve.
  6. Connect the IAC valve electrical connector (2).
  7. Connect the IAC valve air intake hose to the IAC valve.
  8. Install the throttle cover.
  9. Install the three throttle cover bolts.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the throttle cover bolts to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).
