This bulletin is being issued to revise the Pressure Value for Proportioning
Valve Pressure Test and to update Special Tools in Section 5 -- Brakes
of the Service Manual.
Pressure Test
Tools Required:
• | J 38330 Load Proportioning Gauge Adapters
|
• | J 36404-B Teves ABS Pressure Gauge
|
• | J 43845 Pressure Gauge Attachment
|
• | J 35126 Brake Pressure Gauge
|
- Disconnect the top three brakes pipes from the proportioning valve.
- Install the following to the proportioning valve:
- Bleed the air from the pressure gauges.
- By depressing the brake pedal, raise the master cylinder pressure
to 3,432 kPa (498 psi). If the rear wheel cylinder pressure
is not 3,432 kPa (498 psi), replace the proportioning valve.
- By depressing the brake pedal, raise the master cylinder pressure
to 7,845 kPa (1,138 psi). If the rear wheel cylinder pressure
is not 5,070 kPa (735 psi), replace the proportioning valve.
- Remove the following from the proportioning valve:
- Connect the three brake pipes to the proportioning valve.
- Bleed the brake system.
- Check for fluid leakage.
