Circuit/System Verification

  1. Ignition ON, driver door open, verify the scan tool Driver Door Ajar Sw. parameter displays Door Ajar.
  2. If not the specified value refer to Door Ajar Indicator Malfunction
  3. Ignition ON, passenger door open, verify the scan tool Door Ajar Sw. parameter displays Door Ajar.
  4. If not the specified value refer to Door Ajar Indicator Malfunction
  5. Open the driver door while observing the courtesy lamps. All of the courtesy lamps should be illuminated.
  6. If all of the courtesy lamps are inoperative refer to Courtesy Lamps Inoperative - All
  7. If some courtesy lamps are inoperative refer to Courtesy Lamp Inoperative

Circuit/System Testing

Courtesy Lamps Inoperative - All

  1. Place the Dome/Reading Lamp switch in the ON position. The dome lamp should illuminate.
  2. If the dome lamp does not illuminate, test the courtesy lamps supply voltage circuit for an open or high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM.
  3. Test the courtesy lamp control circuit for an open or high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM.

Courtesy Lamp Inoperative

  1. Disconnect the inoperative courtesy lamp.
  2. Ignition ON, connect a test lamp between the courtesy lamps supply voltage circuit and ground. Verify the test lamp illuminates.
  3. If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the courtesy lamps supply voltage circuit for an open or high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the courtesy lamp.
  4. Ignition ON, connect a test lamp between the courtesy lamp control circuit and B+. Verify the test lamp illuminates.
  5. If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the courtesy lamp control circuit for an open or high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the courtesy lamp.
